Much about what we know about past peoples and cultures comes from their burial practices. From the ancient Maya to the Egyptians and Etruscans, their extraordinary funerary art gives us a window into how they lived. I have traveled extensively with my family and have visited some of the most renowned museums in the world, and these experiences were my inspiration for starting Unique Urns.
Some of the most breathtaking art was created to honor the dead. Think of the magnificent golden mask of King Tutankhamen and Michelangelo’s incomparable Pieta, which was originally commissioned to grace the tomb of the French bishop Jean de Billheres. Unique Urns was founded with the hope of continuing this tradition of honoring the dead with the eternal beauty of art and creating urns that personalize the memory of loved ones.
